Explaining Our OEM Preferred Partnerships

In our building, the terms OEM, Preferred Partner, and Customer are used interchangeably and we just can’t help it. The OEM (or preferred partner) approach to our business means that we manufacture reliable, long lasting membrane separators…and then we sell them to companies who build their gas membrane systems with our product inside. Examples of these specialty systems include controlled atmosphere systems for food preservation, nitrox systems for scuba diving, pneumatic air dryer systems, and biogas upgrading packages. We don’t build these smaller, specialty systems, we sell our membranes to the experts who incorporate them in their system design.

Let me repeat, we don’t build these smaller specialty systems, because we’re not the experts in all these different fields. We partner with the most experienced and well versed OEMs in each industry and leave the niche expertise to them- and they like that. That means that at Air Products PRISM Membranes, we can put all of our efforts towards perfecting the membrane products. This relationship of specialization with our partners is what makes our business successful.

What we offer Preferred Partners
-preferred membrane pricing
-technical support
-priority lead times
-occasional end user inquiries for system quotes

The Preferred Partner’s Job
-frequently build innovative gas generating or gas purifying systems using Prism Membrane separators
-sell or rent completed systems to end users or distributors

We are currently accepting new partnerships and we encourage you to inquire via email.

Improving our Membranes Business

voc2Every year, we survey a handful of our membrane customers to learn about their levels of satisfaction with our prices, delivery time, ordering process, technical assistance and so on. It’s a requirement of ours to stay compliant with our quality standards, but in reality, it’s just a really good thing to be doing each year. Then we process the data and figure out where we can improve. One year, we learned that we were slacking in the timeliness of processing warranty claims and membrane returns. I’m not embarrassed to say that, because we learned a really good lesson and put some great effort towards improving that process. We really value the suggestions our customers give us…although you don’t have to tell us that the carpet in our plant looks like it’s 100 years old… we already know that 🙂

PRISM Membrane Separators Control Corrosion in Fire Sprinkler Systems

Leaky, corrosive, sprinkler systems can cause water damage, ceiling drips, property damage, and costly interruptions of business. Our preferred partner, Engineered Corrosion Solutions specializes in reducing the risk associated with fire sprinkler systems by offering a full range of corrosion combating solutions. Nitrogen for these systems is generated by our own PRISM nitrogen membrane separators. Look for Engineered Corrosion Solutions at these two upcoming tradeshows:

October 5-7, 2015: Critical Facilities Summit, Charlotte, NC
October 12-13, 2015: AFSA Convention and Expo, Phoenix, AZ

Supplying Membrane Separators Globally and Locally

We sell and ship membrane separators around the world to remote locations. On the other hand, one of our partners, Holtec Gas Systems, is located so close to our manufacturing plant that they collect their membranes in person…right from our dock! Holtec specializes in designing and building nitrogen membrane systems and pressure swing adsorption (PSA) systems for projects worldwide.

Patent Expiration Inspires Manufacturers

In September of 2012, Keurig’s patent on the original K-Cup expired. Manufactures in the food and beverage industry hustled to produce their own cartridge cups for single cup coffee makers. A few of these manufactures use small nitrogen systems that our preferred partner, The Titus Company, makes. On the inside of these systems are our PRISM nitrogen membrane separators which generate the nitrogen that the application requires. It’s exciting to hear of the diverse ways that our membrane is used…and in this case, the coffee grounds are surrounded in nitrogen before the foil lid is sealed to preserve the grounds better. Then, the coffee can be distributed to Amazon, or Target, or any other grocery store without losing flavor or spoiling.

Nitrogen Membrane Systems for Tire Inflation

Tire Inflation VideoEvery Costco store in the United States has a nitrogen membrane system in the automotive department. The nitrogen systems are built by our exclusive partner, Branick Industries, and they are used to pump high purity nitrogen into your car’s tires. Filling tires with nitrogen makes them last longer in general, and reduces wear and tear. We are proud to partner with Branick to help customers get more life out of their tires.

Looking for Replacement Membrane Separators? This is how we do it…

  • If your membrane system is on a ship, please email AFTSSKRS@airproducts.com for replacement membranes, system service, and spare parts.
  • If your membrane system involves a process gas application such as hydrogen or carbon monoxide separations, please email CPSINFO@airproducts.com for replacement membranes or membrane system service.
  • If your membrane system was built by an Original Equipment Manufacturer such as TitusCo or Holtec, please contact the original builder for replacements. If you need help determining who the original builder is, please email the serial number from one of the old membranes to Membrane@airproducts.com.
  • Any other membrane related inquiries can go to Membrane@airproducts.com.
